CuteFTP is an application for FTP sites in MS Windows based systems.
The application includes a useful Connection Wizard to help the user to set a new FTP connection, by guiding him (her) by means of a Connection Wizard Dialog. Once the connection settings are complete, the program will establish the connection with the new site and it will save it in the Site Manager.
The Site manager will store all the sites that are accessed into an included built-in address book. This Site Manager address book is where user can set the corresponding options for each site. Sites data can be exported or imported to or from other clients, or different versions of the program. This 'Site Manager' address book can be protected by password and the data contents can be encrypted using Blowfish cypher including URL between sessions. User can also change the Site Manager and the logs locations to minimize the risks of intruders.
The application offers several choices of connections to the user. Using the Quick Connect bar, FTP connection information can be entered using 'copy and paste' facilities, create a new site, launch a connection to an existing site or let the application re-connect to the last site visited during the session.
The 'stay alive' function can be customized as well for setting the command to send, the time to start and the time random intervals, set auto reconnect, etc.
The application also includes the feature of scheduled transfers. Users can set the adjustments for setting when (day, time, etc.) the transfers have to be performed.
All the transfers and connection can be accomplished using plain text FTP or encrypted SSL modes.
